In our 3's and 4's classrooms, children are given a balance of free-play and direct instruction. We have centers for writing, art, math, science, building, sensory, small motor play, movement, reading, and dramatic play. These centers allow for the children's interests to be supported and encourage well-rounded developmental opportunities. Our HighScope Curriculum is taught and integrated throughout their spaces depending on the weekly theme. Children are encouraged to work independently as well as in groups during project work. This promotes autonomy, healthy socialization, and critical thinking.
